Red Green was developed out of frustration with existing task management, habit-tracking, and goal-setting applications, which often lack user-friendliness and comprehensive features. Many of these tools are overly complicated, unintuitive, and fail to meet the full scope of user needs, leading to declining engagement over time.

In response, I learned programming and created Red Green to address these shortcomings. The app remains a personal favorite not because of its origin but because it offers simplicity, essential functionalities, and nothing extraneous.

Red Green uniquely integrates tracking for three core categories:
<ul>
<li>Habits: Recognizing that negative habits can be detrimental while positive habits promote well-being. The app facilitates the recording and reinforcement of beneficial routines.</li>
<li>To-Do's: Daily task completion is emphasized. Users can list and focus on their daily responsibilities.</li>
<li>Goals: Serving as a guiding framework, goals are documented and utilized to inform habits and daily tasks.</li>
</ul>

A practical recommendation is to place Red Green in your dock or menu bar—prioritizing its accessibility for ongoing commitment to habits, tasks, and objectives.

Additionally, Red Green respects user privacy by avoiding data collection and cloud storage. This approach ensures that all information remains local; however, it also means losing access if the device is lost or damaged. For those concerned about data security and privacy, this design choice offers reassurance.
